I just learned from the Google Operating System blog (unofficial Google news) that Google Play has an empty category, Audio Books. Google Play is the rebranding and combination of Google's Books, Music, Videos and Android Market.
Having Audio Books available would be great for education, especially since Google always seems to have free stuff in each of their products. Audio books, combined with print books, could be a great way for struggling readers or ELL students to improve their English and reading skills. It would also be great for visually impaired students.
Let's hope Google does this and provides lots of free audio books, especially the classic school books, for education.
I wrote about Google Play's launch yesterday: http://educationaltechnologyguy.blogspot.com/2012/03/google-announces-google-play-music.html
Open Culture also has a great list of free audio books.
