PowToon Edu - create awesome presentations and animated videos

PowToon is a free web app that lets you create presentations and animated videos. PowToon Edu is a free Chrome app extension that does the same on Chromebooks and Chrome browsers. There is also an education page.

It's easy to use and there are some great resources on the site to help you learn how to use it. It can be used by teachers to make their presentations more engaging, and by students to create presentations for their projects.

Once your PowToon is created, you can export it to YouTube or download it. The Chrome extension connects to Google Drive.

There are some short video clips to get you started. It's easy to create a presentation using the build in tools and intuitive interface. Many users say it's easier to use than PowerPoint or Prezi. There are built in characters, props, images and animation tools.

PowToon is a free business animation software and PowerPoint alternative

Take a look and try it out.

Blabberize - make any photo "talk" - great for student projects

Blabberize is a fun way to create projects. The site takes any picture and allows you to make it "talk". It animates the mouth on the picture (or add a mouth to a plant or inanimate object) and adds your voice to it.

It is a lot of fun, but also very educational. Students can use this to create a project, presentation, public service announcement, etc. They have to be choosy about the picture and then write and record relevant speech for the photo. An example I've seen was a polar bear and the script was about the polar bear being endangered, it's habitat, hunting and feeding and more. You can also browse other Blabbers to use or to get ideas.

Fun and educational!

Go! Animate - create animated videos for free

Make a Video Online with GoAnimate.com

Go! Animate is a site that allows you to create animated videos, for free. There is also a school account that is private and secure, has school safe content, content moderation and group management, starting at $8 per month.

The free account lets you create videos easily and quickly. You can also add your own recorded voice to the videos and it is easy to share the videos to YouTube, Facebook, and more.

The free account is limited to 2 minutes per animation. You can create your own characters or use the pre-made ones, including some from Star Trek and It's Happy Bunny.

This could be a fun way for students to create a project that demonstrates their understanding of a concept or for digital storytelling.
