BioDigital Human - great anatomy resource for education

BioDigital Human

BioDigital Human is an incredible resource for anatomy. It is a very powerful resource, that lets you view the human body in 3D, hiding and removing layers, creating custom views, and much more. It is a great way to be able to visualize the human body for biology, anatomy and medical students.

It does require updated browsers and access to advanced graphics performance, so it may not work on all computers.

Here is a great video from their site that shows it in more detail:

Interactive "How the Human Brain Works"

How the Human Brain Works is a great site that makes it easy to see how the human brain works (obviously).

It will also highlight different parts of the brain that are responsible for different functions like hearing and vision.

It is free, easy to use, and easy to understand.

GetBodySmart - Human A&P

GetBodySmart is an interactive web site that helps students learn about human anatomy and physiology. It has interactive flash animations, tutorials, and quizzes. It is very easy to use and navigate and is well designed with very good graphics.

The content is explained well and would be appropriate for high school or beyond.

I would recommend this to any human biology, anatomy and physiology, EMS or medical class students.

Virtual Human Body

The Virtual Human Body is a great web site that is literally a virtual tour of the human body. You can explore the Brain, Skeleton, Heart, and Digestive tract. Each part can be explored and manipulated and some sections even have narrated tours.

In some parts, as you move your mouse over certain parts of the system, notes and information will come up on the screen. I think that it would be suitable for grades 7-12.

I found it easy to use and a great resource for students.

Great Free Anatomy Resource

I just found this great site today - Visible Body. It is a 3D view of the human body that allows you to add or subtract different systems, rotate and zoom, and really explore the human body. I will be using this with my EMT classes and have been telling other medical instructors and A&P teachers about it.
