rosterSync for Admins and Teachers - sync your SIS to Google Classroom

rosterSync is a great new, free tool from New Visions Cloud Lab, the same people behind the Chromebook Inventory Tool. rosterSync has two versions: Super Admin and Teacher.

rosterSync: Super Admin Edition
The Super Admin edition allows GAFE super admin's to create and update Google Classroom, including populating classes, using CSV exports from Student Information Systems. SIS systems that are currently supported include Blackbaud, Infinite Campus, NYC DOE STARS and PowerSchool.

This tool means that teachers don't have to create classes and have students join using a code.

rosterSync: Teacher Edition
The Teacher Edition allows teachers to sync a Google Classroom course roster -- including student email addresses -- directly with Google Sheets for handy use with Add-ons like Doctopus, formMule, autoCrat, formRanger, and others. This will save teachers and students who use those tools a lot of time.

engrade-logo-med
Engrade is a free, online gradebook that I used for many years before our school system got an online gradebook that integrates with our student information system. Engrade is easy to use and students and parents could view the grades and attendance at any time.

Over 4.5 million teachers, administrators, parents and students use Engrade in all 50 states and 150 countries. It's very popular and powerful.

Engrade has started a premium feature, starting at $600, for schools and districts to use. EngradePlus adds attendance, discipline, conference tracking, data analysis, email and SMS alerts, messaging and more, making it a true student information system. The teacher version is still free for individual teachers to use.

Engrade is free, easy to use, and powerful for teachers. EngradePlus brings a full featured student information system to schools and districts. There is minimal learning curves involved due to the design of the system and teachers will feel comfortable using it.

Goalbook - online personal learning plan tracking and reporting

Goalbook_logo
Goalbook is a new beta site that "helps teams of educators, students, and parents collaborate around personal learning plans."

The free site is run by educators and was made to help educators save time and stay organized. It allows educators to track IEP goals, share student progress with the team, and create reports. The students can be grouped into tiers and teams and all information and progress reporting on the students is tracked. Students can even develop their own goals and collaborate with parents and teachers.

It includes messaging, activity streams for teams (like Facebook), progress tracking and reporting, personal learning plans, and ways to communicate with parents and students.

It's a great resource for schools to help students receiving special education services.

Learnboost online planner/gradebook announces new admin features

LearnBoost is an online grade book and lesson planner that is available for free to educators. It has a grade book, lesson planner, attendance, reporting and calendar. It is easy to use, visually appealing, and you can share information with students and parents. The lesson planner is integrated with state standards and you integrate the whole system with Google Apps. Parents and students have access to view grades, attendance, calendars, and course information too.

It is an excellent product and they have just announced another nice upgrade. Administrators on LearnBoost can now set school-wide grade defaults to make classroom setup easier for teachers. They can customize subjects, standards, grade scale, and school sessions. Teachers can still customize their grade scale if they want, though.

This is another great feature for a great resource.

Learnboost-online gradebook and lesson planner - announces lesson plan sharing

LearnBoost, is an online grade book and lesson planner that is available for free to educators. It has a grade book, lesson planner, attendance, reporting and calendar. It is easy to use, visually appealing, and you can share information with students and parents. The lesson planner is integrated with state standards and you integrate the whole system with Google Apps.

I reviewed it in August and it's a great resource for any educator. Today they just announced that they have added a great new feature - Lesson Plan Sharing. Now you can share your lesson plans with other teachers, administrators, students and anyone else you'd like to. All the lessons you create with LearnBoost are shareable through their partner services (Facebook, Twitter, WordPress and more). You can also embed your lesson plans in your own web site and each lesson plan gets it's own URL.

This makes a great product even better. Check it out.
