Stickr - create bookmarks and notes in your browser

Stickr is an interesting site that allows you to create sticker notes on any web page, and comment on videos, pictures, and more on the web. You can share your stickers through sites like Facebook and Twitter and discuss your stickers in the feed on the site.

It is another way to bookmark and share resources online and can be used by teachers and students in class.

Zootool - free visual bookmarking service - fun and useful

Zootool is a free, fun and easy to use, visual bookmarking service I found out about from my PLN on Twitter this past week.

Zootool allows you to bookmark, organize, and share your favorite web links, images, videos and documents easily. You simply install the browser extension (Firefox, Chrome, and Safari) and then start bookmarking. You organize your bookmarks in "stacks" and can add tags for easy organization and searching later. Your bookmarks are visual on in your Zootool page. You can also share your bookmarks via email, Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr. There is also an iPhone app and a mobile optimized version for Android.

You can even import bookmarks from Delicious, Pinboard, Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox or many other services and browsers. Videos, bookmarks, images and documents can all be viewed in your Zootool collection.

This is a great tool for educators and students to use. They can bookmark resources for projects and for class and then share with others easily. It's another great resource for collecting and sharing online resources.

Send Your Bookmarks to Evernote using Booknote Importer (Mac)

Booknote Importer

I know, I know, another post about Evernote. Sorry!

Many people, myself included, use Evernote for bookmarking. I like being able to easily add notes and even attachments to a bookmark. Richard Byrne, FreeTech4Teachers, also uses Evernote for bookmarks.
(I still use Google Bookmarks too. I use them for different bookmarking reasons).

If you use Mac and want to have your current bookmarks imported into Evernote, there is a solution for you: Booknote Importer.

Booknote Importer takes your bookmarks from your browser and makes them notes in Evernote. You first export your bookmarks from your browser and then open up Booknote Importer and load them in.

This is a great way to move lots of bookmarks into Evernote quickly and easily. Once in Evernote, you can share the notes the bookmarks are in with others.

It is free and available in the Mac App store.

Symbaloo - visual bookmarking - organize and share

Symbaloo is a bookmarking service that creates visual bookmarks, lets you organize them, and you can also share them. You can access your bookmarks from any computer.

A free account is available. For more features, you would have to sign up for one of the fee accounts.

As seen above in the Symbaloo Edu page, you can organize your bookmarks in different categories. The Symbaloo Edu page has lots of great links for teachers to use, organized by subject and topic.

SymbalooEdu can be used by teachers to create their own bookmark webmix for classes and for themselves. Students can use it to create bookmark webmixes for their classes.

There is also an EduTools page with links to lots of great resources, an educational news page, and a widgets page with calculator, stocks, tasklist, notepad, and more available to add into your webmix.

It is very useful for education and free.

Added "AddThis" to my blog - share blog posts easily

I just learned about "AddThis" from Richard Byrne at Free Technology for Teachers. AddThis is a free service that lets you add a widget to your blog to allow people to easily share blog posts via Facebook, Twitter, Delicious, and more.

It was extremely easy to set up (I did it in less than 10 minutes) and you can get analytics of how many people share your blog post with others.

Try "AddThis" on your blog and try it out here and let me know how you like it.
